3 Ways to Introduce Classical Music to Your Children

The benefits attached to introducing your children to classical music cannot be understated. Apart from improving their intelligence substantially, there are a number of others that only give you more reasons to go about doing this.

#1: Play classical music while reading to them

It’s a good idea to play classical music while reading to children. Also, find a classical piece that suits the actions and emotions that are involved with the story. In fact, it is recommended that you play the same piece when reading the same book as this will remain in their minds when they grow.

#2: Teach them interpretive dancing to classical music

If your kids are always moving around, and can’t stop, then it’s the perfect opportunity to introduce them to interpretive dance, which encourages them to move in a manner that is in line with the music. It’s also a good idea to mix up the music and see how your children react to it.

For playtime, make a list of classical music composers and have your children pick a composer from that list. You can tell them a little bit about the composer itself which will probably cause them to acquire a taste for classical music itself. Similar to interpretive dance, one can also ply classical music when their children are painting, coloring or drawing for that matter. Tell them to listen to the music and create a piece of art accordingly. In other words, react to it. Don’t forget the name of the composer and its piece.
